Of course i know the Charlatans you mean, but i'll throw in Charlatans UK as well. Great breezy Brit pop from the shoegaze era, but better than most of the rest of 'em. "Some Friendly" beats out anything Billy Joke ever did.

Way back in 1967 B.J. was in a psych-pop band "The Hassles" - he's embarrassed by that early stuff he did now...

I think it's better than his hit records.

The Hassles did a promo video for one of their fuzz guitar numbers, "I Hear Voices" (apparently a Scopitone) that's surfaced recently, you can see a bit of it in the Vh1 Behind the Music episode on Billy Joel.

He says it was just psychedelic shit, so rub it in if you get the chance...

Has Billy been discovering America along the Hershey Highway? I hadn't heard of this.

Course, I don't keep up with him.

He really hasn't given us a good song since "Only the Good Die Young" has he? Did he then?
